Month 5, Day 2: Form a bond with Dr Rodney Syme

The Project showing now not till Tuesday week. Blood test today was a great one, didn’t feel it.

Met today with Rodney Syme about how we may be able to further the awareness of the need to change the law to enable people with terminal illness to have choice around how they die. We also talked further about the progress of my illness and he reassured me with his advice that he will guarantee me control over the end of my life and provide medication if it becomes necessary. He advised me the best medication would be Nembutal taken by mouth. This will give me control over how when and where I die.

  1. Hi Pete, Have you considered a crowd-funded advertising campaign such as the recent Australian Sex Party 2014 election advertisement. The producer of that ad is certainly sympathetic to the cause of Dying with Dignity. Your courage and that of Dr Rodney Syme may benefit from an injection of funds. No pun intended.

    • Hi Peter I will contact the ad man for his advice on the how and who of the process and get back to you. I wonder if Rodney could give you membership numbers of U Three A many of whom may be overwhelmed by technology but would be supportive of your aims. Jan

      • Hi Peter
Jeremy has replied to me, signed your petition and given me permission to give you his phone number. His ad agency is well respected and he believes advertising and some crowd funding could increase the number of petitioners. He would certainly be interested in a discussion with you and Rodney. Could you email me on or phone on 0418157993.
